UK: HMRC collected IHT over £6bn during the pandemic

HMRC has collected over £6bn in Inheritance tax during covid-19, i.e. in the past 12 months. This is up 19% on the previous year.

Due to the high house property prices and the frozen nil rate band for Inheritance at £325,000 (frozen since 2009) a lot more estates are falling within the scope of Inheritance tax charges.
