UK COVID-19: Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme Update

CHANGES TO THE CORONAVIRUS JOB RETENTION SCHEME (CJRS)

From 1 July 2021 the level of the CJRS grant will gradually be reduced and employers will be required to contribute more towards the cost of furloughed employees’ wages as follows:-

Employers must continue to pay furloughed employees 80% of their wages, up to a cap of £2,500 per month for the time they spend on furlough.

Employers can continue to top up employee’s wages above the 80% total and £2,500 cap for hours not worked if they wish.

Please be advised that the CJRS scheme is due to cease on 30 September 2021.
