UK: Cost of living crisis - Inflation rate hits a new 40 year high

The Cost of Living crisis continues to worsen with the UK rate of inflation rising to 10.1% in the 12 months to July 2022 (up from 9.4% in June 2022) as prices continue to rise at their fastest rate in 40 years.


This rise in inflation has widely exceeded the figure expected by economists.
