UK: Changes to HMRC text messages

HMRC have updated some of their text messages to make them easier to recognise as genuine.
The new ‘branded messages’ include the HMRC logo, show HMRC as the sender, and display verified sender information. If your device is not compatible, the message will appear as a standard text.
Branded messages are used for services like Self Assessment and Child Benefit. While they are more secure, HMRC advises you to stay alert for tax scams via calls, emails or texts. You can verify HMRC messages on their website GOV.UK.
