Local Property Tax: Reminder of return deadline 7 November 2025

ROI: LPT return due date, Friday 7^th Nov 2025

The deadline for filing a Local Property Tax (LPT) return for the 2026-2030 period is this Friday, 7th November 2025.

Here are the three steps property owners need to complete:

1.      Determine the valuation band of their property as at 1 November 2025

2.      Submit their LPT return, including the valuation band, by 7 November 2025

3.      Pay, or make arrangements to pay, the LPT charge for 2026

When submitting an LPT return, property owners will be asked to arrange to pay their LPT charge for 2026.  A number of payment options are available:

• Payment in full, by credit or debit card or cash (through a Payment Service Provider). If choosing this option, the payment deadline is Friday, 9 January 2026. 

• Monthly Direct Debit. The first payment will be processed on Thursday, 15 January 2026, and payments will be taken on 15th day of each month thereafter. 

• Deduction at source, from salary, wages, or occupational pension. The first payment will be processed in Jan and will thereafter for 2026. 

• Annual Debit Instruction. The payment will be processed on Friday, 20 March 2026. 

Revenue has acknowledged that there has been a number of technical issues identified within the LPT portal recently, and have ensured that they are taking immediate action in resolving any technical issues identified.
