Elaine Farrell LLB ACA AITI CTA TEP
Elaine was one of the founding Partners of Farrell & Farrell Chartered Accountants in early 2007. Elaine advises clients on ROI and UK taxation matters and also provides ROI and UK tax consultancy services to other accountancy and legal practices.
Elaine is a graduate of Queenâ€™s University of Belfast achieving a First Class Honours Degree in LLB Law & Accounting. She joined Arthur Andersenâ€™s Dublin taxation department in 1999 and became qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and also achieved her ROI taxation professional qualifications with the Irish Institute of Taxation (AITI). Elaine became a Tax manager in KPMG Dublin in 2003 and returned to N. Ireland in 2004 and worked in the tax department of medium sized N.I. accounting practices specialising in UK and ROI taxation. During this time Elaine undertook and achieved the UK Chartered taxation professional qualification in 2006 (CTA). Elaine now joins a very elite group of individuals who are professionally tax qualified under Irish tax law and under UK tax law. Elaine is therefore unique in her professional qualifications and is clearly best placed to advise on cross border taxation aspects. To top off Elaineâ€™s qualifications she also became a member of the prestigious STEP organisation in 2009 which is an organisation for Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Elaine is a frequent presenter on the lecturing circuit and has delivered numerous presentations on various aspects of ROI and UK taxation to other professional accountants and taxation practitioners at the request of professional accountancy and taxation bodies. Elaine also works with the Chartered Accountants Ireland Institute undertaking UK lecturing services. Elaine is also a branch representative of the Irish Taxation Institute for the ROI Louth district.
Jayme Farrell BSc Dip ACA
Jayme was one of the founding Partners of Farrell & Farrell Chartered Accountants in early 2007. Jayme advises clients on ROI and UK accounting and business advisory matters.
Jayme is a graduate of Queenâ€™s University of Belfast achieving a First Class Honours Degree in BSc Accounting. Jayme then completed the post graduate Diploma in Accounting in 1999 before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers Audit & Business Advisory Department. During this time with PwC he became qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). Jayme worked on all types of clients in various sectors ranging from sole-traders to multi-national plcâ€™s. He also gained valuable on-site practical experience working during secondments with various medium-sized industry clients. He brought value to these businesses particularly in the area of business improvement, identifying growth areas, reporting on cost analysis and strategic cost saving projects. In 2003, Jayme commenced work as the financial accountant in the N. Ireland finance department of a multi-national manufacturing business within the Glen Dimplex group during which time he gained first-hand experience in industry and accounts reporting, budgetary forecasting and world class manufacturing.
Carolyn Laird BSc
Carolyn joined Farrell & Farrell Chartered Accountants in June 2009 and plays a central role in the operation of the office. Carolyn, is responsible for the administration and secretarial function of the business as well as assisting in the accounts function of the business.
Carolyn is a graduate of University of Ulster Jordanstown achieving a Second Class 2:1 Honours Degree in Communication Studies. Before joining Farrell & Farrell, Carolyn was a key personnel figure in a local busy retail establishment gaining invaluable experience particularly in the area of customer services.
